It’s funny to think that once upon a time, Steven used to ‘survive’ on microwave meals! Well, most of us have been students at some point but now, many years later, he’s achieved his dream of owning and running his very own bistro. Getting there has been an adventure to say the least, but as the saying goes… ‘If something’s hard work, it’s worth having in your life’
Dreaming of owning his very own bistro from a young age, through various roles and leadership, Steven has been putting in years of hard work in the hospitality and catering sector. The dream finally came true for Steven during 2013, when he relocated his family to Worcestershire to begin their adventure at the Ginger Pig. With an established background in hospitality and catering, Steven and his family were able to indulge in their passion for creating fresh homemade food and sourcing ingredients from local suppliers.
how it began…
It might surprise you to know, Tamworth pigs are behind the name of the Bistro! The original creators of The Ginger Pig liked the Tamworth pig and its memorable colour so much, they decided to name their business after it!
Our extended family, the team, are crucial in helping us to deliver our vision. The kitchen team and front of house staff make it all happen and we couldn’t be without them. Being family run, you will of course be likely to bump into mum and dad on your visits and if you’re really lucky, Steve’s wife! Mum can often be found working the front of house, if she’s not too busy making cakes and dad is usually helping out with DIY projects and sampling those tasty cakes!
